ARP featured on NCLM's Municipal Equation podcast

As the American Rescue Plan (ARP) obligation deadline looms ahead on December 31, 2024, the League is working diligently to ensure all North Carolina towns are in compliance with federal regulations and will not be required to return any funds to the U.S. Treasury.

In the meantime, the League has been speaking with towns across the state to hear their stories of how ARP funds are making an impact in their communities. Listen to our latest episode of NCLM’s podcast Municipal Equation to hear about some of the unique and important ways these funds are making a difference.

Episode 86: ARP Deadline Ahead

Episode Description: We called it once-a-generation legislation when Congress passed it in 2021. The American Rescue Plan Act provided $1.9 trillion across the nation to restrengthen from the global pandemic that hurt so many communities. For their part, the cities and towns of North Carolina got about $1.3 billion -- and there's an important deadline coming up with it, which you can learn more about at arp.nclm.org. We're joined on this episode by NCLM's Stephanie Hughes, who has traveled to various municipalities across the state to see how they've put ARP resources to great use, and advises us on the reporting deadline ahead.

Municipal Equation is a nationally-acclaimed podcast produced by NCLM focusing on municipalities adapting in the face of change. Highlighting best practices both in North Carolina and around the country, the podcast is helping cities and towns and their residents to understand how technology can be and is being used to deliver services and how municipalities are engaging in partnerships that transform people’s lives. It's also helping the public make connections and see the value that municipalities add to residents' quality of life.

Municipal Equation is a production of the N.C. League of Municipalities. Contact host/producer Ben Brown at bbrown@nclm.org.
