CityVision 2025 Gathering in Greenville

Q1 2025 | Vol. 75, Issue 1

It’s time for CityVision 2025, hosted by the North Carolina League of Municipalities. This year’s premier conference for municipal officials will be held from April 29 to May 1 in Greenville, NC, at the Greenville Convention Center. We’re excited to bring together local leaders from across the state for what continues to be our largest-growing event.

CityVision is a one-of-a-kind event designed specifically for mayors, council members, commissioners and staff of North Carolina municipalities. Over three days, attendees will engage in a wide variety of dynamic sessions covering the latest trends, best practices and strategies for improving local governance. Whether you’re looking to advance your career, earn education credits through our Advancing Municipals Leaders (AML) certification program or connect with fellow local leaders, CityVision has something for you.

CityVision offers valuable educational opportunities, including the chance to earn up to six hours of education credit. These credits count toward the AML certificate program. For the first time, CityVision 2025 will recognize municipal officials who have completed certificates of municipal achievement, excellence and dedication.

In addition, our pre-conference programming will feature AML’s most sought-after educational courses: ‘Commit to Civility,’ which showcases our towns’ governing boards’ commitment to effective, respectful leadership, and provides participating towns with a Certificate to display at town hall; and ‘Ethics for Municipal Officials,’ which meets the state required ethics training for elected officials.

EMERGING ISSUES, EXPERT-LED SESSIONS AND CASE STUDIES FROM AROUND NORTH CAROLINA
This year’s conference takes on the most pressing concerns facing our cities and towns. Expert-led sessions will focus on the topics of housing, transportation, economic development and municipal workforce, along with a targeted showcase on civility and local leadership, and case studies from around North Carolina will provide you with a firsthand look at innovations you can implement back at home.

You will leave this conference not just with information and guidance, but with practical, immediate tools to better your community.

Networking is at the heart of CityVision. Greenville will be offering unique opportunities for CityVision attendees to explore the local culture and innovations together. Take part in one of several afternoon mobile tours. Follow the African American cultural trail, stopping at six locations that showcase the city’s rich cultural history. Join the public art and beverage tour to discover Greenville’s unique brewery experiences with backdrops of local, public art. Visit the Queen Anne’s Revenge Conservation Lab, a unique opportunity to see how the state’s maritime archaeological conservation program preserves the artifacts recovered from pirate shipwrecks. Hop on a golf cart and relax as you cruise through Greenville’s greenways. Take an inside look into the distinct industries that thrive in Greenville. Along with League programming, these host-city events provide opportunities to connect with peers, share ideas and build lasting relationships that will benefit your community.

The conference will conclude with the League President’s Dinner and Awards Ceremony, a highlight of the event that celebrates local leadership achievements, honors outstanding municipalities, recognizes legislative achievements and welcomes the newly-elected members of the League Board of Directors, as well as NCLM’s new 2025–2026 president.

CityVision 2025 is the premier event for North Carolina’s municipal leaders to connect, learn and grow together. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Greenville in April!
