This annual event is a cornerstone of our professional development, offering educational opportunities specifically tailored to the unique responsibilities of municipal clerks. It’s a time for us to grow as leaders, exchange ideas, share best practices, and learn from one another in a supportive and inspiring environment.
We are incredibly fortunate to have the continued support of the North Carolina League of Municipalities and the UNC School of Government. Their professionalism and partnership are instrumental in the success of this academy, and we are grateful for their dedication to our organization and the advancement of our profession.

This year is especially momentous as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks—a milestone that honors the dedication, resilience, and excellence of clerks across the state, past, present, and future.
Each evening, we’ll have opportunities to relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. The week concludes with our annual installation banquet, a meaningful celebration where we recognize and support the emerging leaders who will help guide NCAMC into the future.

Important Conference Information
Registration will open in mid-May 2025. All NCAMC members will receive an email when registration goes live.
How much is conference registration? What meals are included?
Conference registration is $ for NCAMC members and $ for non-members.
This includes:
Sunday night reception
Breakfast, Lunch and 50th Anniversary Party with heavy appetizers on Monday
Breakfast and Lunch on Tuesday
Breakfast and President's Banquet Dinner on Wednesday
(Please note, spouses and guests are not able to attend breakfast, lunch or educational sessions during the conference.)
We hope you will attend!
NCAMC Past Presidents and Honorary Members (who are no longer in service as municipal clerks), retired clerks, and former clerks are all invited to attend the 50th Anniversary Party as complimentary guests of the NCAMC.
Please use the registration link on this webpage to register for the event. We do ask that you register ahead of time so we know how many to expect.
If you plan to attend the conference itself, we ask that you register as a non-member. That will provide access to all the conference meals, conference educational sessions and Wednesday evening President's Banquet.
If you do not want to attend the full conference, you can register for the evening events on an a la carte basis.
Spouses and guests are also invited to attend the 50th Anniversary Party. Spouses and guests must also be registered in advance and can be added on when you register yourself.
Can I bring a spouse or guest?
Yes! Registered attendees are welcome to bring a spouse or guest, but they must be registered with the conference in order to attend any of the evening events.
NCAMC offers a la carte options for spouses/guests.
Spouses/Guests are not able to attend conference breakfasts or lunches or the educational sessions.
What is the conference cancellation policy?
Requests for registration cancellation must be received in writing, via email, no later than Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Please contact events@nclm.org if you would like to cancel your reservation.
Cancellation requests made after July 23, 2025 will not be eligible for a registration refund.
How much is the hotel? How much should I budget? How many nights should I stay?
The conference hotel rate is $119 plus $25 resort fee per night, plus applicable taxes.
Most attendees will want to arrive no later than Sunday afternoon and depart on Thursday morning for a total of four nights at the hotel.
Please budget around $650 for four nights at Harrah's Cherokee Resort.
Pending availability, Harrah's Cherokee Resort is honoring the conference sleeping room rate for three days pre-conference and three days post conference in the event you would like to extend your stay. Room booking instructions will be on your conference registration confirmation email.
How do I make a hotel room reservation?
Once you are registered to attend the conference, you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email will include a booking link to book your room directly with Harrah's Cherokee Resort.
Early arrivals and late departures may be requested at the group rate of $144 for up to three days prior and three days post-conference. pending hotel availability.
You may cancel your hotel reservation without penalty up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date. You must contact the hotel directly in order to cancel your room reservation.

What should we do on Tuesday night?
NCAMC encourages attendees to enjoy all that Cherokee, North Carolina and Harrah's Cherokee Resort have to offer!
CLERKS SOCIAL?
Harrah's Cherokee Resort has a number of dining options if you want to make a reservation for Tuesday night. Please click here to see what is available.
There are also a number of restaurants off the property and in the surrounding communities.
Unto These Hills is a play which tells the story of the Cherokee who inhabit the area. The show starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18. More information and ticket sales can be found here.
What should we do on Wednesday?
The conference will wrap up around noon on Wednesday, but the fun isn't over yet!
You will definitely want to stay and enjoy the President's Banquet Wednesday evening, featuring dinner and dancing with your fellow clerks and friends.
Wednesday afternoon will give you time to enjoy the area around the resort. There are museums that explore the history of the Cherokee tribe, shopping opportunities in the nearby cities of Cherokee, Sylva, and Bryson City, or get out in nature and explore the Cherokee entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Be sure to read the rules and entrance requirements of the park ahead of time to make the most of your visit.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest 1970’s attire – dig in those closets, peruse the thrifts, or maybe swing past your parents' house to see what's been gathering dust in the attic?

What is the cut-off date for hotel reservations?

When will attendees visit the sponsor tables?
Attendees are encouraged to visit the sponsor tables on Sunday, August 17 from 4-6 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday during scheduled breaks in the educational sessions.
When should I arrive? When is set-up? When is breakdown?
Exhibitors can begin setting up their booths at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 17. The Sunday evening reception will be held from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. During this reception, NCAMC Summer Conference attendees will begin checking into the conference and can visit the exhibitor booths while enjoying a light reception.
Attendees will also be able to visit the exhibitors during the conference on Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19.
We ask that you break down your exhibit booth no earlier than 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 19.
Self-parking is FREE.
Where do we send a copy of our company logo?
You will upload a copy of your company logo when you register as a sponsor. Logos must be in JPEG or PNG format.

Yes! We hope you will join us and show off your disco-dancing skills!
You are also welcome to join us for the Wednesday evening President's Banquet. Please be sure to select which events you would like to attend on the online registration form!
