TELL US WHY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SERVE IN A LEADERSHIP POSITION AT THE LEAGUE. IN PARTICULAR, SPECIFY GOALS YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH AS AN OFFICER OR BOARD MEMBER AND INDICATE HOW, IF ATTAINED, THEY WILL HELP TO ACHIEVE VISION 2030 – THE LEAGUE’S FUTURE VISION OF HOW CITIES AND TOWNS WILL OPERATE IN 2030?

I was nominated by my peers from across the State to serve as the NCCCMA’s nominee for the Manager Affiliate Seat currently held by Tasha Logan Ford, City Manager of the City of High Point. My nomination was unanimously approved by the NCCCMA Executive Committee and subsequently endorsed by the full membership during our business meeting on January 29, 2026. I hope to serve in a leadership role with the North Carolina League of Municipalities as a Board member to collaborate with others to help local governments operate more efficiently, make data-informed decisions, and remain resilient in a changing environment.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A MUNICIPAL OFFICIAL. YOU MAY WANT TO INCLUDE INFORMATION ON YOUR SERVICE ON THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNING BODY, OTHER RELATED BOARDS AND SPECIAL AREAS OF INTEREST?

I currently serve as the City Manager of Rocky Mount, N.C. a position I've held since April of 2025. Prior to being named City Manager, I served as Assistant City Manager for 6 years in Rocky Mount. I have over 17 years of combined local government management experience, even service as President of our State Manager's Association (NCCCMA).

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, AND/OR COMMUNITY OR CIVIC ACTIVITIES?

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Furman University, and Master of Public Administration from UNC-Wilmington (taking some graduate courses at UNC-Chapel Hill). I have worked at the state level as a Magistrate Judge (Brunswick County, N.C.) and I have served as an executive of both cities and counties in NC. I'm an active member of several civic groups and serve of numerous professional boards/committees at the state and national level. I'm also an ICMA Credentialed Manager.
