Delta Dental FAQs

Please have the Delta Dental Group Name and Group Number readily available:

  • Delta Dental Group Name: NC League of Municipalities- Municipal Insurance Trust of North Carolina (MITNC)
  • Delta Dental Group Number: 10393
  • If calling on behalf of a member, please have their full name and SSN or Alternate ID handy

All eligibility updates need to be funneled through SIMON. SIMON sends an electronic file to Delta Dental that includes all eligibility updates, including new enrollees and changes.

  • If an urgent need arises, please first contact NCLM to obtain both an Alternate ID number and a Division Billing Code before contacting Delta Dental’s Customer Service at 800-662-8856. Both the Alternate ID number and Division Billing Code are assigned by NCLM. On these rare occasions for urgent updates (i.e., someone is visiting a dentist before the file feed has been sent to Delta Dental).
  • Please ensure the SIMON system is also updated to reflect the correct eligibility so the eligibility is transmitted correctly via the electronic file. Ensuring the file feed is always updated will prevent any manual updates from being overridden by the electronic file.

Due to privacy for all entities participating in the plan, access to Delta Dental’s Benefit Manager Toolkit is reserved for administrators of NCLM only and not available to each participating entity’s HR teams. Please email NCLM at mit@nclm.org if you need assistance with eligibility questions.

Delta Dental’s NCLM Homepage: https://www.deltadentalnc.com/hbt/. ID Cards, benefits, eligibility and claims information can
be accessed by members from both portals. If you have additional questions, please contact NCLM directly at mit@nclm.org with
a brief description of your needs.
