HR 201: Performance Management Workshop
November 18 | 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. | Lexington, NC
Performance management is not a once-a-year task—it’s a continuous, strategic process that drives employee growth, team alignment, and organizational success.
Join us for HR 201: Performance Management Workshop, a full-day, interactive training designed specifically for local government leaders and supervisors who want to strengthen their performance management practices. Whether you're new to supervising or looking to refresh and elevate your current approach, this workshop will provide you with the tools and confidence to lead with clarity, consistency, and purpose.
Through a blend of instruction, real-world examples, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, participants will explore how to:
Move beyond annual evaluations to create a year-round performance management system
Set clear, measurable goals that align employee efforts with organizational priorities
Provide meaningful, constructive feedback that motivates and develops staff
Address underperformance effectively and legally
Recognize high performers and support career growth
Foster a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement
Participants will also gain practical strategies for navigating common challenges in performance management, including difficult conversations, setting expectations across diverse teams, and ensuring fairness and consistency across departments.
Key Benefits:
Understand the full performance management cycle—from onboarding to evaluation to development
Learn how to document performance in a way that supports decisions and reduces liability
Build stronger relationships with employees through open, ongoing communication
Create an action plan you can implement immediately in your workplace
This workshop is ideal for:
