2026 Midterm Election Update

Join the NCLM Government Affairs Team on November 17th for a discussion of the 2026 Midterm Election results. As we head into the General Assembly’s “long session” this January,  we will breakdown this new balance of power in the legislature and examine what these election outcomes mean for North Carolina’s cities and towns.

Topics of discussion will include:

• How election outcomes will change the partisan make-up of the North Carolina House and Senate.
• Interpreting what the election results mean for cities, and how they will shape leadership races.
• An in-depth discussion of the property tax issue, and the possible ramifications of the constitutional amendment to limit the property tax levy.
• Outstanding items that may be on the legislature’s agenda for November and December.
