Description

Person County Government Is Seeking An Energetic, Visionary, And Results-driven Planning Director To Lead The Planning And Zoning Department. This High-level Managerial And Supervisory Position Plays A Pivotal Role In Guiding The County’s Planning Initiatives, Ensuring The Development And Implementation Of Effective Programs, And Leading And Mentoring A Team Of Two Professionals Who Drive The County’s Long-term Planning Goals. The Planning Director Will Work Closely With The County Manager And Executive-level Leadership To Align Planning Processes With The Overall Objectives Of The County, While Fostering Community Development, Sustainable Growth, And Land Use Management That Benefits All Residents. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Exceptional Leadership, Communication, And Problem-solving Skills, With A Proven Ability To Manage Complex Planning Projects, Engage With Community Stakeholders, And Drive Organizational Success. This Is An Exempt Position Working 37.5 Hours Weekly/1950 Hours Annually. Must Possess A Valid Driver’s License And Have An Acceptable Driving Record Per County Policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree In Planning, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture Or Related Discipline. Five (5) Years Of Planning, Land Use Or Related Experience Or An Equivalent Combination Of Education, Training And Experience. Master’s Degree, AICP Certification, CZO Certification And Supervisory Experience Are Preferred.

Compensation

$96,229.00 - $150,386.00 Annually. The Starting Salary Will Be Determined With Consideration Given To Both The Candidate's Educational Background And Relevant Work Experience.
