Water Treatment Plant Operator

Water Treatment Plant Operators Perform A Variety Of Operational, Laboratory, And Maintenance Duties Designed To Produce Safe Treatment Of Potable Water. Work Is Performed On An Assigned Or Rotating Shift. Work Includes Monitoring The Plant's Operation Through Observation, Mechanical Readings And The Results Of Standard Chemical And Biological Tests And To Make Necessary Adjustments In The Process As Conditions Or Test Results Dictate. Other Duties Include Performing Standard Laboratory Duties And Tests And Assisting With Plant And Facilities Maintenance. Work Also Includes Substantial Record Keeping Of Work Activities.

Graduation From High School, Or Possession Of General Education Diploma (ged), Supplemented By Course Work In Chemistry Or Biology And Some Experience In The Operation And Maintenance Of A Water Or Wastewater Treatment Plant. Possession Of Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification From The State Of North Carolina Is Preferred.

The City Of Kings Mountain Offers A Competitive Salary Commensurate With Experience And Qualifications. The Salary Range For This Position Is $39,183-64,779, With Hiring Ranges As Follows: A Certification - $57,000-63,000; B Certification - $52,000-57,000; C Certification - $48,000-52,000.
