THE TOWN OF NASHVILLE (POP. APPROX. 5,400, COUNCIL­MANAGER FORM OF GOVERNMENT) IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF TOWN MANAGER. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: THE POSITION IS APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL (FOUR MEMBERS) AND WILL SERVE AS THE TOWN'S CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE §160A­48. THE TOWN HAS 64 FULL­TIME EMPLOYEES WITH AN ANNUAL GENERAL FUND BUDGET OF $5.4 MILLION AND AN ENTERPRISE BUDGET OF $3.5 MILLION. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD EMBRACE PUBLIC SERVICE AS AN IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY, HAVE A STRONG COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY, AND SEEK TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY BY HELPING IT TO THINK STRATEGICALLY ABOUT ITS FUTURE. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN A COMMUNITY WITH A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT THAT IS EXCITED ABOUT ITS FUTURE. THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL BELIEVE IN TEAMWORK AND SEE ITS NEXT MANAGER AS BOTH A LEADER OF ITS EMPLOYEE TEAM AS WELL AS A KEY MEMBER OF THAT TEAM; BOTH OF WHICH ARE COMMITTED TO STRONG CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF MUTUALLY ESTABLISHED GOALS FOR THE TOWN. STRONG INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE DEEMED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL TO BE CRITICAL OF SUCCESS. QUALIFICATIONS: CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE A FOUR YEAR DEGREE WITH AT LEAST FIVE TO SEVEN YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE EXPERIENCE AS A TOWN MANAGER, ASSISTANT TOWN MANAGER, OR DEPARTMENT HEAD. A MASTER'S DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. RESIDENCY WITHIN TOWN LIMITS IS REQUIRED. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: THE SALARY RANGE IS $78,409 TO $117,000 AND IS NEGOTIABLE BASED UPON THE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE.
