GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES PERFORMS HIGH LEVEL PROFESSIONAL DUTIES IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY AND PROGRAMS. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR THE HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST IMPLEMENTS AND PROVIDES A VARIETY OF HUMAN RESOURCES PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF TALENT ACQUISITION, STAFFING, FMLA ADMINISTRATION, EMPLOYMENT PROCESSING, COMPENSATION, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT, EMPLOYEE RELATIONS, AND PERSONNEL TRANSACTIONS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS. THIS EMPLOYEE IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR RESEARCHING EMPLOYEE AND DEPARTMENTAL ISSUES, COLLECTING AND ANALYZING RELEVANT DATA, RECOMMENDING APPROPRIATE COURSE(S) OF ACTION, AND COACHING AND COUNSELING MANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES. WORK IS PERFORMED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND IS EVALUATED THROUGH PERIODIC CONFERENCES, OBSERVATION OF RESULTS, AND REVIEW OF RECORDS, REPORTS AND FILES. SOME INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT IS REQUIRED AS TO WHEN AND HOW ESTABLISHED PROCEDURES OR GUIDELINES ARE TO BE APPLIED. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION OR RELATED FIELD, MASTER’S DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION PREFERRED; CONSIDERABLE EXPERIENCE (3 + YEARS) OF HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. PROFICIENCY IN MS OFFICE PRODUCTS AND EXTENSIVE EMPLOYER RELATIONS EXPERIENCE DESIRED. SPHR, PHR, IPMA-SCP, IPMA-CP, SHRM-CP OR SHRM-SCP CERTIFICATION HIGHLY PREFERRED.
