STORMWATER ADMINISTRATOR SALARY GRADE 58 SALARY RANGE $37,101 - $55,652 THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT IS SEEKING A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL TO SERVE AS A FULL-TIME STORMWATER ADMINISTRATOR. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • ACCURATELY ANALYZES STORM WATER PROBLEMS USING SOUND JUDGMENT TO REACH TECHNICAL CONCLUSIONS AND VERIFY RESULTS. • PREPARES GENERAL STORM WATER DOCUMENTATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL CODES, STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES. • MAKES INDEPENDENT DECISIONS ON STORM WATER PROBLEMS AND METHODS. • REPRESENTS THE TOWN AT STORM WATER CONFERENCES. • USES PRESCRIBED METHODS AND PERFORMS SPECIFIC AND LIMITED PORTIONS OF A BROADER ASSIGNMENT OF AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER. • APPLIES STANDARD PRACTICES AND TECHNIQUES IN SPECIFIC SITUATIONS, ADJUSTS AND CORRELATES DATA, RECOGNIZES DISCREPANCIES IN RESULTS AND FOLLOWS OPERATIONS THROUGH A SERIES OF RELATED AND DETAILED STEPS OR PROCESSES. • ANSWERS QUESTIONS AND RESPONDS TO INQUIRIES FROM CONTRACTORS, CITIZENS AND OTHERS WHEN NECESSARY. • MAINTAIN ALL DAILY, WEEKLY AND MONTHLY REPORTS AND PREPARES ALL REQUIRED STATE REPORTS. • ATTENDS ALL MEETINGS AND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE WHEN NEEDED. • PREPARES AND MANAGES THE DIVISION BUDGET. • PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • GRADUATION FROM A TWO YEAR TECHNICAL COLLEGE WITH AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY OR A CLOSELY RELATED CURRICULUM. • TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL WORK OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. • MUST POSSESS A VALID NORTH CAROLINA DRIVER’S LICENSE. • MUST HAVE OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN STORMWATER BMP PLANS REVIEWER CERTIFICATION AND BMP INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE CERTIFICATE WITHIN TWO YEARS OF HIRE. • MUST OBTAIN A HERBICIDE/PESTICIDE APPLICATION LICENSE FOR AQUATICS AND RIGHT OF WAY WITHIN 2 YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A DRUG SCREENING, CRIMINAL AND EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND CHECK, AND DRIVING RECORD CHECK ARE REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
