Wake County’s Department Of Housing Affordability & Community Revitalization Is Divided Into Two Areas: Programs And Operations. Each Area Is Led By A Deputy Housing Director. These Two Areas Comprise Five Distinct Divisions, Each Offering A Wide Range Of Services And Support To Help Wake County Residents Gain And Maintain Safe, Affordable Housing. With An Annual Budget Of Approximately $34.6 Million And 120 Employees, The Department Exists To Ensure That Quality Affordable Housing Is Available For All Wake County Residents, Even As Population And Economic Growth Increase The Need For Affordable Housing Development And Preservation. Affordable Housing Is Critical To Preserving The County’s Economic Competitiveness By Offering Options For Residents At All Income Levels, Supporting Housing Stability And Economic Opportunity For Residents, And Furthering Wake County’s Commitment To Healthy And Inclusive Growth. Additionally, The Department Is Responsible For Helping To Connect Veterans And Their Families To The Benefits They Earned Through Military Service. Wake County Seeks A Results-driven, Innovative Problem-solver With The Skills And Experience To Lead Its Housing Affordability And Community Revitalization Department. Under The Guidance Of The Deputy County Manager, The Director Of Housing Affordability & Community Revitalization Provides Executive Leadership In Addressing Wake County’s Current And Growing Housing Affordability Crisis, Developing High-quality Business Strategies And Plans Aligned With Short- And Long-term Board Of Commissioners’ Goals And Objectives. This Position Requires A Bachelor’s Degree In Public Administration, Business Administration, Or A Closely Related Field, With A Master’s Degree Preferred. Candidates Must Also Have Eight (8) Years Of Experience In Housing Affordability Development And Administration, Including Four (4) Years Of Supervisory Experience. Ten (10) Years Or More Of Progressively Responsible And Innovative Experience Administering Local, State, Or Federal Housing Initiatives While Overseeing Compliance With Complex Rules And Regulations Is Ideal. Any Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience Will Be Considered.
