The City Of Roanoke Rapids Is Seeking An Experienced Recreation Leader As Our Next Parks & Recreation Director! This Position Guides All Aspects Of Our Parks & Recreation Department To Achieve Its Mission To Provide Well-rounded Programming For All Ages And To Provide Safe, Attractive And Clean Facilities. As A Department Head, The Parks & Recreation Director Reports To The City Manager And Actively Contributes As A Member Of The City Leadership Team In Achieving Citywide Goals And Objectives Established By Roanoke Rapids City Council. Job Duties Include: leading All Aspects Of Roanoke Rapids Parks & Recreation Services; Building Team Atmosphere With Staff develop And Manage Recreational Planning Documents With Community Input; Supervisor And Participate In Grant Application Process recruit, Select And Oversee Training Of Department Personnel; Manage Work Performance, Scheduling, Training And Other Personnel Matters establishes Department Policies, Sets Priorities And Reviews Performance Expectations supervises The Preparation Of Department Budgets; Administer Budgeted Funds Effectively receives And Investigates Public Inquiries Or Complaints Concerning Recreational Activities And Services oversee The Preparation Of Recreational Reports; Analyze Data Trends; Present Findings To The Public build Collaborative Relationships With Community Partners; Build Positive And Productive Relationships With The Community Qualifications Include: Education: Bachelors Degree Or Higher In Park & Recreation Management, Natural Resource Management, Public Administration Or Another Closely Related Field Certifications: CPRP, CPRE And/or Other Applicable National Or State-level Certifications Experience: A Minimum Of 7 Years Of Parks & Recreation Experience With At Least 5 Years In A Supervisory/management Role or An Equivalent Combination Of Education, Certifications And Experience To Apply: Please Submit A Letter Of Interest Along With Resume And Application To The City Of Roanoke Rapids Human Resources Department.
