The Town Of Lucama, Population 1,034 And Located 5 Minutes From Wilson, Is Accepting Applications For The Position Of Town Manager. The Town Manager Is Appointed By The 5 Members Of The Non-partisan Board Of Commissioners And Serves As The Chief Administrative Officer Of The Town As Described In NCGS 160A-148. The Manager Oversees The Day-to-day Operations Of The Town And Provides General Supervision And Direction To All Departments/officers. The Position Will Provide Frequent And Detailed Reports/ Updates To The Mayor And Town Board Of Commissioners. The Town’s Operation Budget For The Current FY Is $4.5 Million And Has A Capital Projects Budget Of $4.5 Million With Most Of The Projects In The Beginning Stage. The Town Provides Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, Electric Distribution, Street Maintenance, Garbage Collection, Yard Waste Collection, Zoning, Parks, And General Administration To The Citizens. Police And Fire Protection Are Contracted Out. The Candidate Is Expected To Have Good Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With Strong Ethical Qualities. The Desired Skills Would Be Experience Of Working In The Areas Listed In The Services Provided And Some Experience In Working With Governing Boards. Minimum Qualifications Are To Have A Bachelor’s Degree In Public Or Business Administration Or Related Field, A Master’s Degree, And Some Experience And As A Town/city Manager Would Be A Plus. Lucama Offers Competitive Benefits And A Salary Package ($80,000-$95,000) And Includes North Carolina Local Government Retirement System And 401K Participation.
