Wrightsville Beach, Population 2,800 (45,000 Peak Seasonal) Is A Nationally Recognized Premier Beach Resort Community With A High Quality Of Life And Family Beach Atmosphere. The Town Manager Is Appointed By A Five-member Non-partisan Board Of Aldermen Elected For Overlapping Four-year Terms. The Position Is Responsible For Development And Administration Of A $18M Annual Operating Budget And Management Of A Workforce Composed Of 80 Permanent Employees As Well As A Significant Seasonal Workforce. Preferably, Candidates Should Possess A Masters Degree In Public Administration Or Related Field And Have A Minimum Of Five Years Experience In Municipal Management. Candidates Should Also Possess Superior Budgeting And Communication Skills As Well As Strong Ethical Leadership Qualities. Familiarity With North Carolina Coastal Issues And Beach Nourishment Are Highly Desired. Candidates Will Be Required To Demonstrate An Ability To Develop/maintain Strong Public And Employee Relations As Well As Intergovernmental Relations.
