Due To A Retirement The Town Of Elon Has A Career Opportunity For A Town Clerk. An Employee In This Class Serves As A Public Official As Defined In The North Carolina (N.C.) General Statutes And Is The Primary Administrative And Clerical Support For The Town Council Members. The Main Emphasis Of The Work Is To Maintain Town Ordinances And Documents; Preparation Of Agendas, Minutes, And Legal Notices; Administration Of Official Oaths; Explanation Of Town Council Members Activities And Procedures; And To Serve As The Official Custodian Of Town Records. Professionalism, Considerable Tact, Courtesy, And Discretion Are Required In Frequent And Varied Contacts With The Public. Maintains The Town’s Website And Social Media Platform For Official Announcements And Maintains Effective Working Relationships With Media Outlets. Work Is Performed In Accordance With N.C. General Statutes And Municipal Ordinances. Proficiency, Accuracy, And Compliance With Mandated Legal Requirements Are Required To Perform Work. Work Is Performed With A Considerable Degree Of Independence, Is Supervised By The Town Manager, And Is Evaluated On The Basis Of Achieving Annual Performance Objectives.
