The Town Of Elon Is Located In Historic Alamance County And Considered One Of The Safest Cities In North Carolina With A Population Of 11,350. There Are Two Parks Located Within The City Limits, Beth Schmidt Park And Lawrence Slade Park. An Employee In This Class Manages The Programming, Promotion, Operations, And Appearance Of Town Parks And Recreational Facilities. Emphasis Of The Work Is On Developing Programs And Services, Annual And Multi-year Operating And Capital Budgets; Planning And Organizing Work Of Support Staff, Volunteers, And Interns; And Actively Marketing Town Recreational Programs Services. This Classification Works With Local Community Groups, Other Governmental Agencies, And The General Public Regarding Recreational Programming. Work Also Includes Direct Marketing Of Services With Local, State, And National Publications In Print, Voice, And Social Media As Well As Grant Applications From Public Or Private Sources. Work Is Performed Under The General Supervision Of The Town Manager And Is Evaluated On The Basis Of Achieving Annual Performance Objectives And Attainment Of Department And Town Goals And Objectives, Periodic Conferences With The Town Manager, Activity Reports, And Feedback From The General Public And Other Agencies.
