Essential Tasks: Plans, Coordinates, Assigns And Inspects The Work Of Semi-skilled And/or Skilled Workers And Equipment Operators In The Repair, Maintenance Or Construction Of Streets And Related Right-of-way. Mowing And Vegetative Maintenance Activities Within The Right-of-way And City Owned Lots, Sidewalk/curbing Repairs, And Asphalt Operations And, Including Includes Activities Such As Snow Removal And Other Emergency Responses; Performs/assists In Performing More Difficult Repair Or Construction Tasks; Supervises Crews Working Night Call As Assigned; Drives To Work Sites And Inspects Work In Progress To Assure Conformance With Instructions; Communicates With Personnel Concerning Problems Relating To The Job And Finds Solutions; Makes Work Assignments; Maintains Time And Material Records; Prepares Work Reports; Provides Instructions On Use Of Safety Equipment And Enforces Safe Work Policy; Approves Leave Time; Trains, Instructs And Evaluates Subordinates; Responds To Afterhours Emergency Calls In Order To Maintain System; Assists Personnel In Understanding And Accomplishing Goals And Objectives Established For The Division; Receives And Responds To Citizen Inquiries And Complaints, Initiates Necessary Maintenance And Repair Activities; Ensures General Safety Precautions Are Followed By Crews, Reviews Accidents And Prepares Reports; Prepares Cost Estimates For Construction Projects, Orders Materials And Supplies; Assists In Tracking Of State Street-aid (Powell Bill) Allocations And The Reimbursement Of The City Though NCDOT; Assists In Preparing Reimbursement Requests For Quarterly Municipal Maintenance Agreement; Develops Employee Work Plans And Conducts Employee Performance Evaluations; Assists The Public Services Manager With Purchasing, Budgeting And Personnel Administration, Including Interviewing And Selection, Disciplinary Actions And Promotion Recommendations; Assists Personnel In Understanding And Accomplishing Goals And Objectives Established For Each Respective Division;. Reviews And Approves Purchase Orders And Requisitions And Assists In The Development Of Specifications For Contract Work, Equipment, And Services Within The Operational Area. Ensures That Adequate Training Programs Are Implemented For The Division; Coordinates Snow Removal Operations And Emergency Response; Coordinates And Provides Schedule For Annual Loose-leaf Collection; And Ensures That All Work Is Performed In Accordance With OSHA And City Safety Standards And Policies. 

Qualifications: Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree In Construction Management, Business Or Public Administration Or Related Field And A Minimum Of Five (5) Years Of Related Experience Or An Associate Degree In Construction Management, Business Or Public Administration Or Related Field Plus Minimum Eight (8) Years Of Related Experience. Salary: $67,383.68-$91,453.44 Annually.
