The Public Works Director Serves As The Department Head For The Public Works Department Providing Leadership And Direction Related To Operations And Services Within The Town. This Position Is Responsible For Developing And Maintaining The Standards, Controls, And Policies Necessary To Administer And Coordinate The Various Programs And Services Provided By The Department.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE POSITION
Plans, Organizes And Manages The Functions Of The Public Works Department Divisions Including Streets Maintenance, Property Maintenance, And Fleet Maintenance Divisions; Ensures Coordination And Collaboration With Other Departments; Oversees Special Projects And On-going Activities.
Performs And Oversees Various Human Resources Functions Including Selection, Promotion, Training, Mentoring, Team Building, Coaching And Performance Review Of Department Staff In Collaboration With Subordinate Supervisors; Meets Frequently With Supervisors To Solve More Complex Problems; Sets Priorities And Deadlines, And Provides Guidance And Direction.
Holds Staff Meetings To Keep Staff Informed, Goal-oriented, Customer-focused, And To Solve Problems And Address Issues That Broadly Affect The Department And Staff.
Makes Field Inspections Of Public Works Projects To Review Progress And Ensure Completion; Performs Reviews.
