The Town Of Dallas, NC Is Currently Seeking Applicants For The Full-time Position Of Stormwater Administrator. Dallas, A Community Of 6,212 Residents Located 20 Miles West Of Charlotte, Is Known As The “Crossroads Of Gaston County”. Its Prime Location Conveniently Situated Near The Intersection Of I-85 And US-321 Has Sparked An Increase In Development Interest In The Past Few Years – A Trend That Is Expected To Continue. This Position Is In The Public Works Division And Will Be Under The Direction Of The Assistant Public Works Director. The Successful Candidate Will Be A Hands-on, Self-motivated Professional That Will Work To Develop, Coordinate, Implement, And Manage The Town’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) MS4 Stormwater Permit And Associated Stormwater Management Plan. This Is A New Position And The Stormwater Administrator Will Assist In Building The Stormwater Department As The Town Of Dallas Grows. Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To, Reviewing Public Stormwater Infrastructure And Private Stormwater Management Facility Design In Construction Projects, Site, Subdivision, Single Family, Street And Public Right-of-Way Development Design Plans; Reviewing Stormwater, Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk And Roadway Design; Meeting Customers And Contractors In Relation To The Stormwater Program, Specifications, And Requirements; Coordinating And Monitoring Assigned Construction Projects; Assisting With Construction Contract Administration; And Providing Input And Technical Support. The Ability To Operate Equipment Relative To Stormwater Management, Such As A Backhoe, To Mitigate Problems With Stormwater Drainage As Needed. This Position Requires An Associate’s Degree, Or Greater, In Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution; Or An Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience. Hiring Range Is $55,141 - $62,861 DOQ, With A 5% Increase Upon Successful Completion Of The Probationary Period.
