The Construction Manager Will Be Integral In The Day-to-day Contract Administration Of Minor And/or Major Capital Projects Which May Include Transportation, Facility, Utility Construction Capital Infrastructure Projects. The Position Involves Working Closely With Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors, And Technicians To Construct Projects That Continue To Improve Cary’s Infrastructure To Serve Its Ever-growing Community. This Position Also Works Closely With Private Developers, Engineers, Utility Company Representatives, Other Governmental Agencies, And Contractors When Administering Capital Projects. The Construction Manager Will Plan, Direct, And Supervise Capital Projects During The Construction Stage. They Must Be Proficient At Plan Reading, Planning, Specification, And Drawing Standard Applications, And The Execution, Supervision, And Coordination Of Technical Aspects Of Field Engineering Assignments, As Well As Preconstruction Design Reviews, Budget, And Cost Estimates For Project Budgets For Public Contracts, Bidding Or Letting Of Public Contracts, Public Contract Administration, Project Delivery, And Project Closeout. The Construction Manager Is Approximately 75% In The Office, And 25% In The Field, Though The Day Can Vary And Should Require Minimal Supervision. Candidates’ Work Experience Should Include Engineering, Contract Administration, And/or Construction Management.
