The Surveying Tech Works As A Member Of The Engineering Division Surveying Section. The Surveying Section Operates Using 2 Individuals Per Crew. The Employee In This Position Will Assist The Surveying Party Chief In Conducting Construction Stakeouts, Topographical And Property Surveys. This Person Will Use Level, Total Station, GPS, And Data Collector To Set And Mark Hubs And Stakes For Utility And Road Construction And Is Responsible For Cleaning And Adjusting Surveying Instruments. Additional Duties Will Include, But Not Limited To: Clearing Sight Lines, Cutting Brush, And Assisting With Traffic Control When Working In Traffic. The Successful Candidate Should Have General Knowledge Of NC Boundary Law As It Pertains To Field And Office Procedures And Knowledge Of The Practical Application Of Engineering Science And Technology To Include Applying Principles, Techniques, And Procedures. The Employee In This Position Should Be Able To Use Surveying Equipment And Have Knowledge Of Arithmetic, Geometry And Their Applications. This Individual Must Have Good Verbal And Written Communication Skills. The Physical Duties Of The Job Include Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching Or Crawling, Standing, Walking, Reaching And Occasional Lifting Up To 50 Lbs. The Position Requires Working More Than 2/3 Of The Time In Outdoor Weather Conditions. The Job Is NON-EXEMPT Under FLSA. Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma Or GED With 1 – 3 Years Of Survey Work Experience, Or No HSD/GED With 5 - 7 Years Of Survey Work Experience, Or Associate's Degree With 1 Year Of Survey Work Experience Valid Driver's License Experience Using Total Station And Data Collector Surveying Instruments Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree In Surveying Or Civil Engineering Surveyor In Training (SIT) Certification Experience With AutoCAD Apply Directly At Https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/greensboronc/jobs/4047255/surveying-tech-2301?sort=PostingDate%7CDescending&pagetype=jobOpportunitiesJobs
