Job Summary The GIS Technician/Analyst’s Responsibilities Will Include Heavy Amounts Of Database Entry And Management Of H2GO’s GIS Mapping And Asset Management System. The Position Demands Proficiency With Mapping And Database Software. The Analyst Must Be Familiar With Database Derived Information, Generation Of Water And Sewer Infrastructure Mapping And District Boundary Annexation Maps. The Technician/analyst’s Duties Include Work Related To Digitizing, Math, Surveying, Technical Writing, Data Conversion, Application, And Implementation. It Will Be The Role Of The Technician/analyst To Transfer Data From The GIS Database With Certain Parameters And To Ultimately Assist Engineering Department Staff With Capital Improvement Project Reports And/or Asset Management Decisions Derived From This Created Information. Job Duties & Responsibilities • Analyze GIS Data Using Maps, Graphs, Written Reports And Tabular Data • Design/prepare Graphic Representations Of GIS Data Using H2GO’s Software Application • Convert Infrastructure As-built Plans To Shape Files For Upload To The Mapping And Asset Management System • Manage Field Crew Reports To Maintain Asset Repair And Maintenance Records • Assist The Engineering Department To Initiate, Assign, And Track Progress Of Maintenance Work Orders • Track High-risk And High-maintenance Assets • Analyze Asset Data And Create Relevant Reports To Assist Other Departments To Prepare And Submit Competitive Applications For Federal And State Funding Programs • Revise District Maps Associated With Newly Annexed Service Areas And Coordinate The Same With County GIS And Election Board Staff To Accurately Depict H2GO’s Voting Districts • Serve As Primary Contact For Management Of Departmental Content On H2GO’s Website Qualifications • Must Be Familiar With Database Derived Information • Must Be Working Towards A Bachelor’s Degree In GIS Or A Related Field And Have Familiarity With Editing Data In ESRI ArcGIS Applications And GPS Data Collection • Must Have Experience And/or Class Work With Geoprocessing And Data Analysis Using ESRI’s ArcGIS Applications • Strong Analytical, Critical Thinking And Problem-solving Skills Required. • Effective Verbal And Written Communication Skills And The Ability To Collaborate With Team Members Across The Organization. • Must Possess A Valid NC Driver’s License Position Open For Hire: 7/1/2023 Please Submit Cover Letter And Resume To Dave Pinette, Human Resources Director At
