The Town Of Carrboro, NC (Pop. 21,230) Is Seeking An Experienced, Progressive Leader To Be Its Next Director Of Housing And Community Services.
The Director Of Housing And Community Services Is Appointed By The Town Manager. This Position Is Responsible For Planning, Research, Documentation, Evaluation, Development, And Management Of The Town Council's Affordable Housing And Community Services Priorities And Goals And Department-Specific Initiatives As Noted In Carrboro Connects. This Position Reports To The Assistant Town Manager And Oversees Three (3) Full-Time Equivalent Employees, An FY 2022-2023 Budget Of $600,129, And The Affordable Housing Fund Which Averages $350,000 Annually.
The Position Requires A Bachelor's Degree Or An Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience That Provides The Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities To Perform The Duties. At Least Three Years' Experience In Local Government, Team Leadership, And/Or Program Management And Three Years Of Supervisory Experience Is Required. A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Is Strongly Preferred. Must Have Experience In Solving Issues Related To Crisis Housing, Critical Home Repairs, Disability Accommodations, Financial Assistance, Homelessness, Rental Housing, Services For Seniors Or Support For Immigrant Populations.
The Starting Salary Range For This Position Is $87,819—$107,260 Depending Upon Qualifications And Experience. The Town Also Provides A Generous Benefits Program Including Health Insurance, Annual, Sick, Holiday, Personal And Paid Parental Leave And Includes A 3% Contribution To A 401(K) And Participation In The North Carolina Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System.
