Full Salary Range $62,182 - $103,636 Annually Hiring Range: $62,182 - $82,909 Annually. *Qualifies for Signing Bonus* The Plans Examiner Assures The Health, Safety And Welfare Of The Public By Performing Standard Level III Electrical Plan Review Of Construction Documents For Compliance With The N.C. Building Codes And City Of Greensboro Ordinances. This Employee Will Verify The Completeness And Accuracy Of The Permit Submittal, Investigate The Conditions Of The Existing Buildings, Advise Designers With Regard To Code Requirements And Methods Of Compliance, Check Construction Documents For Code Compliance, Make Interpretations Of The Code, Report The Approval Or Rejection Of Proposed Design To Permit Applicants And Their Design Teams, And Issue A Permit As Appropriate. This Individual Should Exhibit Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, To Prepare Correspondence And Reports. The Employee Should Possess The Ability To Learn New And Proprietary Computer Applications For Plan Review Tracking, Permitting, And Building Inspections And Should Be Able To Use Microsoft Office Suite Software And An Electronic Plan Review Application, Such As Bluebeam Revu. This Position Will Also Serve As Backup For The Electrical Inspections Section. The Physical Duties Include: Walking, Standing, Sitting, Bending, Reaching And Kneeling, Stooping, Lifting Up To 25lbs, And Other Activities Associated With The Primary Responsibilities. A Mechanical And Plumbing Standard Level I Certification Is Required For This Position Or Must Be Obtained Within 2 Years Of Employment In Order To Remain In The Position. **POSITION QUALIFIES FOR SIGNING BONUS PROGRAM...In Addition, Selected Candidates Who Have Additional Multiple-trade Certifications Will Qualify For Supplemental Pay: • $2,400 Annually - For One Additional Certificate • $4,800 Annually - Two Additional Certificates • $7,200 Annually - Three (or More) Additional Certificates
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma Or GED With 1-3 Years Of Experience With NC Electrical Standard Level III Certification Performing Code Enforcement Inspections OR Plan Review
Or No High School Diploma Or GED With 5-7 Years Of Experience Years' Experience With NC Electrical Standard Level III Certification Performing Code Enforcement Inspections OR Plan Review
Valid Driver's License
N.C. Electrical Standard Level III Inspector Certificate ( Must Include A Copy With Application)
Experience Using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Construction Management
Experience In Electrical Systems Design And/or Construction
ICC Certification As Commercial Electrical Inspector And Plans Examiner (Must Include A Copy With Application)
