Pender County Is Currently Seeking Candidates For The Position Of Assistant To The County Manager. Pender County Is In Southeastern North Carolina In The Wilmington Metropolitan Area. This Position Is An Essential Part Of The Management Team And Reports To The County Manager. The Successful Candidate Will Provide The County Manager’s Office With Highly Complex Analytical Support, Project Planning And Management, And Administrative And Operational Assistance Involving Multiple Service Areas. Pender County Is Looking For A Highly Motivated Professional With An Interest In Public Service. This Position Will Support The Work Of The County Manager’s Office By: • organizing, Analyzing, And Coordinating Special Projects • collaborating And Coordinating With County Departments On A Variety Of Matters • investigating And Following-up On Citizen Requests Examples Of Duties And Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To): • preparing, Analyzing, And Researching A Wide Array Of Proposed New And Existing Programs As Delegated By The County Manager • developing An Understanding Of Operations And Remaining Knowledgeable Of Initiatives, Challenges, And Best Practices • conducting Research, Analyzing Data, Evaluating Efficiency And Effectiveness, And Making Recommendations To Improve Operations QUALIFICATIONS: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Bachelor’s Degree, With A Master’s Degree In Public Administration Preferred. In Addition, The Ideal Candidate Will Have 3-5 Years Of Professional Experience In An Office Environment, With Experience In Local Government Preferred. Dependent Upon Education And Experience.
