This Position Supervises Village Planners And Specialists And Performs Journey Level Planning Work In A Variety Of Projects For Current And Long-range Planning And Development Efforts. Work Involves Preparing And Presenting Technical Data And Reports For Various Boards And Commissions; Providing Technical Assistance To The Public And Various Agencies On Planning And Development Matters; And Preparing Reports And Recommendations For Re-zonings, Permits, Site Pans, Subdivisions, And Annexations For Board Consideration. Work Is Distinguished From The Senior Planner By The Variety And Complexity Of Work Assigned, The Greater Independence In Day-to-day Activities, And The Leadership Role As Technical Resource And Supervisor Of Other Staff Members. Work Is Supervised By The Planning And Inspections Director. Minimum And Preferred Qualifications: Possession Of A Valid Driver’s License Required. Graduation From A College Or University With A Degree In Planning Or A Related Field Preferably Supplemented By A Master’s Degree, And Considerable Experience In Urban Planning With Some Supervisory Experience, Or Any Equivalent Combination Of Education Or Experience. Certification As CZO (Certified Zoning Official) Or Ability To Obtain Within 1 Year. AICP (American Institute Of Certified Planner) Certification Preferred.
