UTLITY SUPERINTENDENT The Town Of Gibsonville Is Seeking An Individual To Perform Professional administrative And Managerial Work In Supervising Varied Public Utilities And public Works Services For The Town. An Employee In This Class Is Responsible For Planning, Organizing, And Supervising the Work Of Employees Engaged In Public Works And Utilities Systems Installation, construction, Maintenance, And Repair. Work Includes Supervising And participating In Storm Water Management, And Water Distribution And Wastewater collection Systems Operation And Maintenance, Pump Stations As Well In Assistance with Streets, Facilities Maintenance And Solid Waste Management. The Employee may Serve As Operator In Responsible Charge Of The Sewer Collection Systems, Or back-up ORC. Work Involves Participation In Capital Projects Management, Staff supervision, Purchasing, Hiring And Performance Coaching And Review. Work requires Some Engineering Design Knowledge, Project And Construction management Skills, And Some Knowledge Of Personnel And Supervisory Principles, practices And Laws And Regulations. Work Is Performed Under General Supervision of The Public Works Director. Qualifications: • Graduation From A Four-year College Or University With A Major In Public administration, Civil Engineering, Business Or Related Field And Supervisory experience In Public Works And/or Utilities Management; Or An Equivalent combination Of Education And Experience. • Possession Of A Professional Engineering License Preferred Or Obtain A PE License Within An Agreed Time. • NC Commercial Driver’s License Or Within 2 Years Of Hire. • Possession Of A Grade A Water Distribution System Operator Certification and Cross Connection Control Certification Or Within 2 Years Of Hire. • Possession Of A Grade II Sewer Collection System Operator Certification Or within 2 Years Of Hire. • Possession Of Pesticide Applicator License As Determined By The Town Or within 1 Year Of Hire. The Hiring Rate Is Grade 25, With A Hiring Range Of $68,631 To 84,972 Depending On qualifications.
