Dobson Is A Town In Dobson Township, Surry County, North Carolina, United States. As Of The 2020 Census, The Town Population Was 1,396. It Is The County Seat Of Surry County. Dobson Is The Home Of The Shelton Vineyards, The Largest Winery In North Carolina. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible For The Supervision Of Department Division Heads To Include But Not Limited To Police, Administration, Fire, And Public Works. Summary: The Town Of Dobson, North Carolina Is Currently Seeking A Qualified Town Manager To Serve As The Town’s Chief Administrative Officer. Dobson Is The County Seat Of Surry County With A Population Of 1,396 (2020 Census) And An Operating Budget Of $3.9 Million. The Town Manager Supervises And Directs The Administration Of All Town Departments, Prepares And Submits The Annual Operating Budget, And Is Responsible For The Day-to-day Operations Of The Town. The Town Manager Is Responsible For Planning, Organizing, Directing, And Implementing The Goals Of The Town Council. Candidates Must Be Effective Leaders With The Ability To Relate Well To Town Council, Staff, And Citizens. Position Duties And Responsibilities: Duties And Responsibilities Can Be Found In The Following Link Qualifications: This Position Requires A Minimum Of A Bachelor’s Degree From An Accredited College Or University In Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, Finance, Or A Related Field. A Master’s Degree In Public Administration Is Preferred. Other Requirements: • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License And Satisfactory Driving Record • Proof Of Current/valid Car Insurance • Acceptable Background Reports • Valid Proof Of Educational Requirements • Negative Drug Screen Results Compensation And Benefits The Town Of Dobson Offers An Excellent Benefits Package Including Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, And Paid Life Insurance. The Town Participates In The NC Local Governmental Retirement System And Contributes 5% To 401k.
