APPLY BY DEADLINE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED STARTING SALARY RANGE: $125,000 – 135,000 THE TOWN OF LOUISBURG HAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A TOWN ADMINISTRATOR SEEKING A STABLE POSITION IN A GROWING COMMUNITY. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL SERVE AS THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR THE TOWN OF LOUISBURG AND WILL PERFORM PROFESSIONAL AND MANAGERIAL WORK PLANNING, ORGANIZING, AND DIRECTING THE ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE TOWN INCLUDING FINANCE, PLANNING, HUMAN RESOURCES, UTILITIES OPERATIONS, AND OTHER FUNCTIONS. LOCATED LESS THAN 40 MILES FROM THE RENOWNED RESEARCH TRIANGLE AND THE CITIES OF RALEIGH, DURHAM. AND CHAPEL HILL, LOUISBURG PROVIDES A RELAXED QUALITY OF LIVING AND UNMATCHED CHARACTER WITH ACCESS TO ALL OF THE MODERN AMENITIES OF WORLD CLASS EDUCATION, SHOPPING, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND ENTERTAINMENT. THE NEXT TOWN ADMINISTRATOR WILL BE APPROACHABLE, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL AND INTERACT WELL WITH STAFF, ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND RESIDENTS. IT IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE FOR THE NEXT TOWN ADMINISTRATOR TO BE VISIONARY, CREATIVE, AND FLEXIBLE IN ADDRESSING THE CONCERNS OF THE TOWN AND IN GUIDING ITS FUTURE. THE INDIVIDUAL IS EXPECTED TO BE AN ADMINISTRATOR BUT ALSO A VISIBLE FIGURE IN THE COMMUNITY AND ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY EVENTS SPONSORED BY THE TOWN. THE TOWN HAS AN ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET OF $15.9 MILLION THAT FOCUSES ON PUBLIC SAFETY, TOWN INFRASTRUCTURE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, RESIDENT SERVICES, AND RECREATION AND CULTURE. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE EXPERIENCE AS A PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR, MANAGER, ASSISTANT MANAGER OR SIMILAR LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO DEMONSTRATE LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN ADMINISTRATION, BUDGETING, AND CAPITAL PROJECTS. A BACHELOR’S DEGREE FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY, WITH A MAJOR IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT OR A RELATED FIELD, IS REQUIRED. THE TOWN PLACES AN EMPHASIS ON THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR BEING A MEMBER OF THE ICMA AND/OR THE NCCCMA. THE COUNCIL SUPPORTS AND ENCOURAGES THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR TO BE OR BECOME AN ICMA CREDENTIALED TOWN ADMINISTRATOR WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF BEING EMPLOYED.
