THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COORDINATION OF THE CITY’S TRAINING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND ASSISTS THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR WITH A VARIETY OF HUMAN RESOURCES ACTIVITIES. $48,587.66 - $72,881.50 ANNUALLY OVERSEES AND COORDINATES THE CITY-WIDE TRAINING PROGRAM; WORKS WITH DEPARTMENTS TO CUSTOMIZE TRAINING; DEVELOPS NEW TRAINING PROGRAMS; DRAFTS TRAINING OUTLINES AND PRESENTATIONS; FACILITATES IN-HOUSE TRAINING SESSIONS. DEVELOPS AND OVERSEES A CITY-WIDE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. WORKS CLOSELY WITH ALL CITY DEPARTMENTS TO DETERMINE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS FOR THE PROGRAM. TRACKS PROGRAM PROGRESS AND EMPLOYEE ACHIEVEMENTS. MAINTAINS TRAINING RECORDS; CONDUCTS PERIODIC TRAINING NEEDS ASSESSMENTS; PREPARES QUARTERLY REPORTS. OVERSEES AND COORDINATES THE CITY’S CORE VALUES TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS; WORKS WITH PROCESS IMPROVEMENT TEAMS; ASSISTS OTHER DEPARTMENTS WITH PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS; PLANS AND COORDINATES EVENTS INCLUDING EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION EVENT, SERVICE AWARDS AND RECOGNITION AWARDS. OVERSEES AND COORDINATES THE CITY’S TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; RESEARCHES SCHOOL INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY COWORKERS; PROCESSES ALL APPLICATIONS AND REFUND REQUESTS; MAINTAINS FILES ON ALL ENROLLED EMPLOYEES; PROCESSES TUITION PAYBACKS. COLLECTS AND ANALYZES ORGANIZATIONAL AND EMPLOYEE DATA, CREATES REPORTS AND PRESENTS FINDINGS AS NEEDED. MAINTAINS RECORDS ON HUMAN RESOURCES-RELATED STATISTICS, CREATES AND ANALYZES REPORTS. MANAGES POSITION CONTROL AND ENSURES STRICT ADHERENCE TO AUTHORIZED, BUDGETED POSITIONS. CONDUCTS FREQUENT AUDITS ON POSITION CONTROL. CONDUCTS RESEARCH ON HUMAN RESOURCES AND EMPLOYMENT LAW TOPICS. ASSISTS HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR WITH PREPARING A VARIETY OF REPORTS AND COST ESTIMATES ON PERSONNEL-RELATED ISSUES, INCLUDING BUDGET ESTIMATES; DEVELOPS AND CONDUCTS VARIOUS SURVEYS RELATED TO SALARY, BENEFITS, AND POLICY ISSUES; AND RESPONDS TO SURVEYS FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. ASSISTS WITH MONITORING COMPLIANCE WITH CITY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND VARIOUS LAWS AND REGULATIONS CONCERNING EMPLOYMENT. ASSISTS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE DEPARTMENT’S BUDGET. PROVIDES SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR; SERVES IN THE ABSENCE OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR. CONDUCTS RESEARCH ON HUMAN RESOURCES TOPICS. REMAINS CURRENT ON EXITING EMPLOYMENT LAWS; RECOMMENDS CHANGES, AS NEEDED, TO THE CITY’S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. KNOWLEDGE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TRAINING AND EDUCATION PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES. KNOWLEDGE OF DEPARTMENT AND CITY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. KNOWLEDGE OF CITY PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. SKILL IN THE OPERATION OF COMPUTERS AND OTHER STANDARD OFFICE EQUIPMENT. SKILL IN PLANNING, ORGANIZATION, AND DECISION MAKING. SKILL IN THE SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL. SKILL IN PUBLIC SPEAKING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS.
