THE CITY OF BOILING SPRING LAKES IS A RAPIDLY GROWING, PREDOMINANTLY RESIDENTIAL COASTAL COMMUNITY LOCATED IN BRUNSWICK COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. THE CITY LIES APPROXIMATELY 21.2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA WITH A POPULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 7,000. THE AREA IS 23.3 SQUARE MILES. THE CITY IS KNOWN FOR ITS PROXIMITY TO LOCAL BEACHES AND LAKES. THE CITY IS SEEKING A CITY MANAGER TO PLAN, ORGANIZE, MANAGE, DIRECT, AND IMPLEMENT THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AS THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) FOR THE CITY. THE CITY MANAGER SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AND MUST HAVE A STRONG RESPECT FOR THE COUNCIL/MANAGER FORM OR GOVERNMENT. THE CITY MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE TO THE BOARD FOR ADMINISTERING ALL MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS AND EXERCISES CONTROL AND GENERAL SUPERVISION OF ALL CITY EMPLOYEES. THE PERSON SHALL BE AN EXPERIENCED MANAGER WHO IS WELL VERSED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF AN ORGANIZATION’S OPERATIONS INCLUDING, FINANCE, PERSONNEL AND STRATEGIC PLANNING. THE CHOSEN CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A RECORD OF RECOMMENDING POLICIES AND IMPLEMENTING PRACTICES TO ACHIEVE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS AND MUST POSSESS THE PROVEN ABILITY TO ATTRACT, DEVELOP, MOTIVATE, AND RETAIN EMPLOYEES, AS WELL AS ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND FOSTER VOLUNTEERISM. THIS ENTHUSIASTIC, COLLABORATIVE, RESULTS-ORIENTED LEADER WILL BRING OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATION, INTERPERSONAL AND CONSENSUS BUILDING SKILLS AND VALUE DIVERSITY.
