AN EMPLOYEE IN THIS CLASS PERFORMS PROFESSIONAL, TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE WORK PLANNING, ORGANIZING AND COORDINATING THE MAIN STREET PROGRAM FOR THE CITY’S BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE NATIONAL MAIN STREET CENTER’S ECONOMIC REDEVELOPMENT MODEL. THE EMPLOYEE HAS RESPONSIBILITY FOR MANAGING THE ANNUAL CALENDAR OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND STAKEHOLDER GROUPS; WORKING WITH THE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL WORKPLAN AND MONTHLY COMMITTEE AND GROUP MEETING AGENDAS. THE COORDINATOR OVERSEES THE PROGRAM’S WEBPAGE, GENERAL COMMUNICATION AND NOTIFICATIONS, WORKING WITH STAFF, PROGRAM PARTNERS AND CONTRACTORS TO KEEP THE RESOURCES UP TO DATE AND ACCURATE. THE COORDINATOR MANAGES THE PROGRAM’S DIRECT OUTREACH TO DOWNTOWN STAKEHOLDERS IN THE FORM OF INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. THE COORDINATOR MANAGES OTHER PROJECTS DEVELOPED IN THE ANNUAL WORK PLAN PROCESS AS ASSIGNED, WORKING WITH PROGRAM STAKEHOLDERS TO IDENTIFY NEEDS, DEVELOP STRATEGIES AND EXECUTE PROJECTS THAT LEAD TO FURTHERING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICTS. DUTIES INCLUDE DATA AND STATISTICS GATHERING TO SUPPORT THE DIRECTOR IN PORTRAYING THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF THE CITY AND MAINTAINING PROPER RECORDS, CONTACT INFORMATION, REPORTS AND INFORMATION FOR THE INTERNAL FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM AND FOR PUBLIC MESSAGING. WORK REQUIRES A GREAT DEAL OF INDEPENDENCE AND MAY INCLUDE SUPERVISING OR AIDING OTHERS. PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: GRADUATION FROM A FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY WITH A DEGREE IN BUSINESS, MARKETING, URBAN PLANNING, ARCHITECTURE, OR RELATED FIELD OF STUDY. MASTER’S DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, BUSINESS, PLANNING OR RELATED FIELD OF STUDY PREFERRED. 1-3 YEARS OF DIRECTLY RELATED EXPERIENCE, OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
