BUSINESS AND MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERVICES CONSULTANT PG007:  $64,800 – $81,000 (NORTH CAROLINA WESTERN REGION) THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS TO SERVE AS LIAISON TO THE ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS FROM THE MEMBER CITIES AND TOWNS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY VISITING SITES, COMMUNICATING THROUGH ELECTRONIC METHODS, PARTICIPATING IN CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS, RESEARCHING VENUES FOR RESOURCES, EXPLAINING VALUE OF LEAGUE GENERAL SERVICES AND RISK MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, AND HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY NCLM. OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE CORRESPONDING WITH MUNICIPAL LEADERS ABOUT KEY LEGISLATIVE ISSUES, STAYING INFORMED ABOUT INSURANCE MARKETS AND PLAN DESIGNS, TRAINING MUNICIPAL PERSONNEL, AND UNDERSTANDING INSURANCE REPORTS.IF YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AND ARE INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION PLEASE FOLLOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS AT THE LINK BELOW.

RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH MEMBERS AND KEY MUNICIPAL PERSONNEL BY SERVING AS THE PRIMARY LIAISON BETWEEN THEM AND NCLM; MEET REGULARLY WITH EACH CITY/TOWN IN THEIR DESIGNATED TERRITORY; CONTACT NEW KEY MUNICIPAL PERSONNEL WITHIN 45 DAYS OF TAKING OFFICE. CONDUCT BUSINESS REVIEWS AND SURVEYS TO ENSURE MEMBERS ARE SATISFIED WITH THEIR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES AND IDENTIFY POTENTIAL NEW BUSINESS POSSIBILITIES. ASSIST MEMBERS IN SELECTING THE PROGRAMS, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT ARE RIGHT FOR THEM; PROMOTE RISK POOLS AND OTHER LEAGUE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES; PROVIDE INFORMATION TO MEMBERS IN A TIMELY MANNER. ADVISES MEMBERS ON RELEVANT EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES. ACHIEVE CLIENT RELATIONSHIP TARGETS AS SET BY THE DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT; ESCALATE AND RESOLVE AREAS OF CONCERN RAISED BY MEMBERS; LIAISON WITH INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS TO ENSURE MEMBERS NEEDS ARE MET; UPDATE CRM REGULARLY TO TRACK MEETINGS, ISSUES AND MEMBER CHANGES. REPRESENTS NCLM AT EVENTS AND CONFERENCES BY PROMOTING LEAGUE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS; ARRANGING STAFF BOOTHS; AND ATTENDING WORKSHOPS AND TRAININGS OFFERED BY LEAGUE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT IN MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, POLITICAL SCIENCE OR RELATED FIELD. OVER THREE YEARS PREVIOUS SALES EXPERIENCE OR CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP EXPERIENCE AND AN ORGANIZED APPROACH TO WORK.  MUNICIPAL EXPERIENCE OR INSURANCE EXPERIENCE A PLUS. HARDWORKING AND A STRONG WORK ETHIC; SELF-STARTER. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF OFFICE PRODUCTS INCLUDING WORD, EXCEL, AND POWER POINT AND EXCELLENT WRITING SKILLS.  STRONG INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND ABILITY TO BUILD RAPPORT WITH MEMBERS AND FELLOW EMPLOYEES. ABILITY TO EXERCISE CONSIDERABLE TACT, COURTESY AND DISCRETION IN FREQUENT CONTACT WITH PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND MUNICIPAL MANAGERS AND OTHERS. MUST HAVE INITIATIVE, ASSERTIVENESS AND BE A CREATIVE SOLUTION SEEKER.

POSITION IS HOME BASED (WITHIN NORTH CAROLINA – WESTERN REGION).  WEEKLY TRAVEL IS REQUIRED WITHIN THE REGION AND OCCASIONALLY THROUGHOUT THE STATE.  OCCASIONAL OVERNIGHT STAYS. LEAGUE VEHICLE WILL BE PROVIDED AND SUBJECT TO ALL LEAGUE AND IRS GUIDELINES.

SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE REQUIRED: VALID CLASS C DRIVER'S LICENSE.  THIS POSITION REPORTS TO THE DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.
