WHILE SERVING A GROWING COMMUNITY, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL PERFORM A VARIETY OF SERVICES THAT SUPPORT GUILFORD COUNTY’S MISSION TO PROVIDE EFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE, RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT THAT MEETS THE PUBLIC’S NEEDS AND IMPROVES OUR COMMUNITY. AREAS OF MANAGEMENT AND FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE INCLUDE: RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION, EMPLOYEE RELATIONS, TRAINING AND ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT, CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (HRMS). THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANNING, MODIFYING, AND ADMINISTERING THE HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES AND DEPARTMENTS. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MASTER'S DEGREE IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, AND FIVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION, OF WHICH THREE YEARS MUST BE IN A SUPERVISORY ROLE. OR GRADUATION FROM A FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY WITH A DEGREE IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, AND SEVEN YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION, OF WHICH THREE YEARS MUST BE IN A SUPERVISORY ROLE. IT IS PREFERRED THAT THE CANDIDATE HAVE SPHR, PHR, IPMA-CP, IPMA-SCP, SHRM-CP, AND/OR SHRM-SCP CERTIFICATION. THE STARTING SALARY FOR THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR IS NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WITHIN A RANGE OF $109,532 TO $160,852.
