TOWN OF STANLEY SEEKING TOWN CLERK/HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR THE TOWN OF STANLEY IS SEEKING A FULL TIME CLERK/HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR. THE CLERK PROVIDES GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE FOR THE TOWN COUNCIL AS REQUIRED BY NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUES. THE CLERK SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AND UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE TOWN MANAGER. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: HANDLES CORRESPONDENCE, PREPARES AGENDAS AND SCHEDULES AND PREPARES NOTICES OF A MEETING FOR THE TOWN COUNCIL. THE CLERK PROVIDES GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE TO THE MANAGER INCLUDING CLERICAL, RESEARCH, ATTENDANCE OF MEETINGS FOR TRANSPORTATION, REGIONAL MANAGER’S MEETINGS, CCOG, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND OTHER MEETINGS AS DIRECTED. THE CLERK SERVES AS THE CUSTODIAN OF TOWN RECORDS AND PUBLIC DOCUMENTS. ASSISTS THE BILLING CLERK WITH COLLECTING AND RECORDING PAYMENTS AND WORK ORDERS, HANDLES PERSONNEL DOCUMENTS, INSURANCE MATTERS, RETIREMENT DOCUMENTS AND ENROLLMENT, GENERAL CLERICAL WORK AND OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE MANAGER OR COUNCIL. THE CLERK SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARCHIVING OF RECORDS, COORDINATING THE DIGITAL SUBMISSION OF AND RETENTION OF ZONING RECORDS, COUNCIL RECORDS, MANAGER RECORDS AND OTHER OF REPORTS SUBMITTED TO THE STATE. THE CLERK PREPARES THE BOARD ROOM AND ANY SUCH PROVISIONS NEEDED FOR THE COUNCIL. THE CLERK ATTENDS ALL TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS AS WELL AS PLANNING BOARD AND BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETINGS. THE APPLICANT SHOULD POSSESS A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS OR RELATED FIELD, FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR ANY EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING. THE APPLICANT SHOULD BE PROFICIENT IN CURRENT OFFICE SOFTWARE PROGRAMS INCLUDING WORD, EXCEL AND OTHER OFFICE PROGRAMS. THE APPLICANT SHOULD BE PROFICIENT IN KEYBOARDING, TYPING, TRANSCRIBING, AND OTHER RELATED SKILLS. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A CLERK, HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR, PLANNING AND ZONING, OR OTHER MUNICIPAL EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED. A MASTER’S DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, BUSINESS, OR SIMILAR FIELD IS PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED. ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE IS $45,000-$55,000, DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS.
