AS A DEPUTY CLERK IN THE CITY OF SALISBURY, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! THE DEPUTY CLERK PROVIDES HIGHLY RESPONSIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE INVOLVING MAINTENANCE OF OFFICIAL CITY DOCUMENTS AND RECORDS. THIS POSITION MANAGES SPECIAL PROJECTS REQUIRING MULTI-DEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION AND CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT, INTERACTS WITH LOCAL AND STATE OFFICIALS, COORDINATES THE PREPARATION OF MINUTES, AND SERVES WITH THE FULL POWER OF THE CITY CLERK IN THE CITY CLERK’S ABSENCE. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS ARE VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS POSITION. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • ASSOCIATES OR TECHNICAL DEGREE WITH COURSEWORK IN PUBLIC BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR RELATED FIELD AND CONSIDERABLE EXPERIENCE IN OFFICE MANAGEMENT, OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • MUST HAVE A VALID NC DRIVER’S LICENSE • POSSESSION OF OR ABILITY TO OBTAIN NOTARY PUBLIC CERTIFICATION WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT • MUNICIPAL CLERK CERTIFICATION PREFERRED OR ABILITY TO OBTAIN WITHIN 3 YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT • STRONG WRITING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS; ABILITY TO WORK WITH ALL LEVELS OF STAFF, INCLUDING ELECTED OFFICIALS CLOSING DATE: SEPTEMBER 13, 2019 PAY RANGE: $19.35 - $25.15 PER HOUR PLEASE APPLY ONLINE AT WWW.SALISBURYNC.GOV/HR
