THE PUBLIC INFORMATION & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING, IMPLEMENTING, COORDINATING AND MAINTAINING PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS PROGRAMS SERVING AS THE OFFICER TO RELEASE AND/OR RESPOND TO INQUIRIES FROM THE PUBLIC AND MEDIA. RESEARCHES, WRITES, EDITS, PHOTOGRAPHS, PREPARES GRAPHIC DESIGN, PRINTS AND DISTRIBUTES INFORMATION ACROSS MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION PLATFORMS INCLUDING INTERNET, INTRANET, CITY WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA, PUBLICATIONS, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT SPEECHES, BROCHURES, SERVICE DIRECTORIES, NEWSLETTERS, MEMOS, BLOGS, AND PRINT-READY MEDIA RELEASES. PRODUCES RELEVANT, PROACTIVE AND TIMELY INFORMATION THAT SUPPORTS PROJECTS AIMED AT INFORMING, EDUCATING AND ENGAGING CITIZENS AND CUSTOMERS; SERVES AS CITY LEADERSHIP LIAISON TO PLAN, COORDINATE AND ATTEND CITY FUNCTIONS, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENTS, OR PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY EVENTS; SERVES AS CITY WEBMASTER; COORDINATES WITH CITY DEPARTMENTS TO ENHANCE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS AND ACTIVITIES; DEVELOPS MARKETING STRATEGIES, CAMPAIGNS, EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT INFORM AND INVOLVE CITIZENS; AND ASSIST PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES DURING EMERGENCY/DISASTER SITUATIONS.
