ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY THE CITY OF ASHEVILLE IS SEEKING A FULL-TIME, EXEMPT FLEET MANAGER TO JOIN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS TO PERFORM SUPERVISORY, TECHNICAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS IN MANAGING THE FLEET OF ROLLING STOCK AND MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY OF ASHEVILLE. THIS POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN FLEET MANAGEMENT IN A MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT SETTING AND BE AN EXPERIENCED SUPERVISOR, LEADER AND TEAM PLAYER. THEY MUST BE COLLABORATIVE, POSSESS CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND STRATEGIC PLANNING BACKGROUND. ADDITIONALLY, THEY WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND PARTNERSHIPS WHILE COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY WITH BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. EXPERIENCE IN FINANCE, BUDGETING AND FLEET OPERATIONS ARE ALSO ESSENTIAL. FULL SALARY RANGE: $54,515.09-$85,043.55. STARTING PAY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS.
