THE SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR MANAGES THE EMPLOYEE SAFETY PROGRAM FOR THE CITY'S WATER RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, COMPRISED OF 372 EMPLOYEES SPREAD ACROSS DIVERSE WORK GROUPS. THIS POSITION WILL TRACK AND IMPLEMENT MEASURES TO MEET NCOSH / OSHA WORK PLACE REQUIREMENTS AND STAY CURRENT AND ADVISE ON SECURITY, RISK MANAGEMENT, AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS ISSUES AFFECTING THE WATER AND WASTE WATER INDUSTRY. THE INDIVIDUAL IN THIS POSITION WILL PREPARE REPORTS AND CERTIFICATION APPLICATIONS, PROVIDE EMPLOYEE TRAINING, TRACK DEPARTMENTAL TRAINING EFFORTS, PROVIDE TRAINING AND SAFETY AUDITS TO ENSURE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS ARE MET; PROVIDE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE TO SUPERVISORS, PROMOTE SAFETY THROUGHOUT THE DEPARTMENT'S WORK SITES, AND ENSURE CONSISTENCY IN PROCEDURES AND PRACTICES AMONG THE DIVISIONS. THIS POSITION ALSO COORDINATES MODIFIED DUTY ASSIGNMENTS AND MONITORS ADA, FMLA, AND WORKER'S COMPENSATION COMPLIANCE WHERE APPLICABLE. THE POSITION WILL PLAN AND LEAD THE EFFORTS OF THE DEPARTMENTAL SAFETY COMMITTEE, INCLUDING OSHA STAR SAFETY PROGRAM AND REPRESENT THE DEPARTMENT ON THE CITY'S SAFETY COMMITTEE. THIS POSITION MAY BE CALLED TO ISSUE AND MANAGE SAFETY RELATED CONTRACTS WITH THIRD PARTY VENDORS OR CONSULTANTS. THIS JOB IS EXEMPT AND IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE OVERTIME PROVISIONS OF THE FAIR LABOR STANDARDS.​
