TOWN OF MAXTON POLICE DEPARTMENT IS LOOKING FOR A POLICE OFFICER. THE APPLICANT MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE, HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT. THE APPLICANT MUST POSSESS A VALID NORTH CAROLINA DRIVER'S LICENSE, A NORTH CAROLINA CERTIFICATION IN BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HAVE A CURRENT LAW ENFORCEMENT FIREARM CERTIFICATION. APPLICANTS SHALL HAVE A CLEAR CRIMINAL HISTORY AND BE OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER. WORK INCLUDES PATROLLING THE TOWN DURING A SHIFT IN A POLICE CAR OR ON FOOT; PREVENTING, DETECTING AND INVESTIGATING DISTURBANCES AND CRIME; INVESTIGATING TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, HELPING VICTIMS, AND PERFORMING TRAFFIC CONTROL WORK; APPREHENDING SUSPECTS; TESTIFYING IN COURT; AND EXECUTING RELATED ASSIGNMENTS.
