THE ASSISTANT COUNTY MANAGER, ACTS WITH THE AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY MANAGER'S OFFICE, PROVIDES OPERATIONAL SUPPORT, POLICY OVERSIGHT AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP, PERFORMANCE OF FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES THAT ARE NECESSARY FOR THE EFFECTIVE OPERATION OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT. RESPONSIBLE FOR FACILITATING CONSISTENT IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PROVISION OF SERVICES, ASSISTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, AND MEASUREMENT OF PROGRESS OF COUNTY-WIDE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. FOSTERS COOPERATIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, INTERGOVERNMENTAL AND REGULATORY AGENCIES, VARIOUS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS, MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, AND COUNTY STAFF. RESPONSIBILITIES ALSO INCLUDE COORDINATION AND PROVISION OF STAFF AND PROGRAMMATIC SUPPORT TO THE COUNTY MANAGER AND THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS. SUCH RESPONSIBILITIES MAY VARY, DEPENDING UPON THE LONG- SHORT-TERM NEEDS OF THE COUNTY.
