Dear League Members:
As you are all aware, Hurricane Florence is approaching North Carolina and threatening the state with a significant risk of flooding and wind damage. Knowing that your biggest priority is the safety of your communities and your families, the League of Municipalities has decided to postpone CityVision 2018 (September 19-21 in Hickory).
This was a difficult decision, as we consider CityVision hugely important in our larger mission to connect you, the League membership, with one another and with ideas that strengthen and make all of towns and cities better places to live for all residents. But after taking into consideration the forecasted path, potential travel conditions and flooding and storm damage, we felt we had no choice. Although parts of the state may avoid storm damage, as a federation of cities and towns, we are all in this together and so will all be working as one to address the damage when it passes.
We are exploring holding the conference at a later date in the fall. Know that we will be in contact with all of our registered attendees, vendors and other partners while we explore these possibilities. As we do so, please be patient as we work through the next steps.
Please be safe as you prepare for the storm and throughout the duration of Hurricane Florence, and let the League know if we can be of assistance to you.
