Description

Position Title: Information Technology Manager Pay Grade: 35 Salary: $84,022-$107,129 Position Type: Permanent Full-Time Department: Administration FLSA Status: Exempt General Statement Of Duties: The Information Technology Manager Is Responsible For Overseeing And Coordinating The Organization’s Information Technology Operations, Infrastructure, And Strategy. This Role Ensures The Efficient And Secure Operation Of All Computer Systems, Related Applications, Hardware, And Software, And Aligning IT Objectives And Programs With He Organization’s Overall Goals. Distinguishing Features Of The Class: The IT Manager Plans, Directs, And Evaluates The Implementation Of Technology Solutions To Improve Organizational Efficiency And Service Delivery, While Maintaining System Integrity And Data Security. The Position Also Involves Developing And Enforcing IT Policies And Procedures, Managing Vendor Relationships, And Overseeing Information Technology Operations For The Town And To Define A Direction For Town-wide IT Infrastructure, Security, And Training. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: • Plans, Organizes, And Oversees The Town’s Information Systems, Including Main Computer System And Main Network Administration, Database Management Systems, Access Control Systems, And Telecommunications, Including VOIP-duties Including Contractor And Project Management. • Leads IT Strategic Planning Functions; Participates In Setting Direction For Technology Implementations Reviews And Evaluates New Technology; Participates In Planning For Future Needs. • Develops, Maintains And Updates The Town’s IT Policies To Reflect Current Technology And Practices And Provides Training As Needed. • Stays Current On Evolving Technology As Well As Needs Of The Organization. Recommends And Implements Upgrades, As Needed. • Develops Policies And Procedures To Protect The Confidentiality, Integrity And Accessibility Of The Town’s Digital Information. • Prepares And Manages IT Budget; Provides Pricing And Equipment Recommendations To All Departments. • Negotiates Contracts For Equipment Purchase And Leases, Phone Services, Cellular Services, Alarm Service, Etc. • Performs Business Justification And Risk Management Functions For All Technology Purchases. • Reviews Specifications And Vendor Selection For All Technology Purchases. • May Serve As The Administrator For FCC Radio Licensing And Town Registrations. • Provides Technical Assistance To Other Departments. • Performs Other Duties As Assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Operation, Maintenance And Capabilities Of Computer And Networking Equipment. • Principles And Techniques In The Preparation Of Computer Programs, Systems Analysis And Computer Operational Policies, Procedures, And Practices. • Methods, Procedures, Policies And Trends Associated With Implementation Of Information Technology Strategies. • Methods, Procedures, And Policies Of The Town, Including Town Code, Employee Handbook, Policy And Procedure Manual

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology Or Related Field And Four Years Of Experience In Information Systems Management; Or Any Equivalent Combination Of Training And Experience, Which Provides The Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities. • Local Government IT Experience Is Preferred. • Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) Certification Preferred.
