AD DEADLINES FOR 2008

Most ads on this site were published in the monthly publications for member municipalities of the North Carolina League of Municipalities. Southern City is a tabloid with a circulation of 6,500 including all NC municipal department heads and many individuals who are job seeking and subscribe just to get job ads. League Letter is a four-page newsletter with circulation of 5,200 that goes only to NC municipal elected officials and department heads - no outside subscriptions are available.

The current month's League Letter ads are placed in this forum around the first of each month and replace the past month's ads. Southern City ads are placed here around the 15th of each month and replace that publication's last set of ads.

Note: The League now allows classified ads to go ONLY to either the League Letter or Southern City sections of the website (and not into the print publications). The cost for this service is $2 per line per classified section of the website (meaning either League Letter or Southern City – or both).

Placing Job and For Sale ads

Below is the schedule of League Letter and Southern City printing dates and deadlines for placing Career Opportunity and For Sale ads. Ads that run in these publications also appear on this Web site.

Application closing dates should be at least 15 days after the printing dates stated below. Due to limited advertising space in the League Letter , career opportunity ads will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the available space is full.

The charge for advertising in League Letter is $1.50 per line of approximately 10 words, based on final typeset copy. The charge for advertising in Southern City is $1.50 per line of approximately 5 words, based on final typeset copy. To estimate the cost of an ad, divide the total number of words in the ad by 5 (for example, a 120-word ad would cost around $24.00). The League bills for ads appearing in either publication at the end of the month in which the ad appears.
