Human Resources Technician






HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICIAN (City of New Bern): Performs intermediate paraprofessional work administering and maintaining benefit programs, coordinating the wellness program and assisting with payroll system. Oversees health insurance and supplemental insurance programs; keeps abreast of benefit trends and regulations; handles benefit related inquiries; administers retirement programs; conducts new employee orientation; assists in preparation and maintenance of payroll and benefits entries and changes; plans and organizes annual employee benefits fair and performs related tasks as required. Thorough knowledge of benefits administration and wellness program rules and regulations; ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures. Advanced computer skills, including Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in personnel administration or related field and considerable experience in personnel and benefits administration.  Salary range:  $36,978 - $60,181.  Excellent benefits.
