Finance Officer – Duplin County. Duplin County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Officer to perform administrative, supervisory and fiscal control work for the county which has a total budget of approximately 56 million dollars. Work involves planning, coordinating and directing all aspects of county financial management and administration which includes the receipt, disbursement and accounting of county revenues and expenditures, managing the investment of county funds and coordinating closely with the county manager with the preparation of the county budget. Also supervises an administrative unit. Independent judgment and initiative are required to ensure compliance with laws, ordinances and financial operation directives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or closely related field and preferably a Certified Public Account supplemented by six (6) – nine (9) years previous experience and/or training that includes supervisory and governmental financial accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. If not already achieved, the applicant should have the ability to obtain NCLG Finance Officer Certification within two (2) – three (3) years of employment. Miscellaneous Information: Annual Salary begins at $63,415 and is dependent on knowledge and experience.
