Claims Assistant I - (Two Positions) - PG 0002:  $32,240 – $50,375. Interested in working for a mission-driven non-profit organization that supports North Carolina local governments? If so, please consider joining the team at The North Carolina League of Municipalities. We are initiating the recruitment process for two openings in the Risk Management Services Claims handing unit. The purpose of the Claims Assistant I position is to provide support to Claims team in the adjudication of claims submitted by our members. Responsibilities/Requirements: Provides administrative support assisting team members by, for example, setting up and processing new claims submitted by member cities and towns; verifying coverage on property and casualty claims; keying data; answering phone and email inquiries; processing incoming faxes; processing out going mail; copying and printing file material; coding bills; working document image mail; preparing files for reinsurance; completing forms; requesting medical records and paying vendor bills, and other duties assigned by Manager. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of Claims specific vocational, administrative, or technical skills. Knowledge of computers and willingness to grow and learn. Desire to obtain Claims Adjuster licensure and higher education. One to three years experience working with workers compensation and/or property & casualty claims. Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in a property & casualty or workers compensation claims setting. Skills/Certifications/License Required: Experience involving use of computer equipment or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have good customer service and communication skills. Valid NC Driver License. These positions are located in Raleigh, NC and will report to a Claims Manager. Deadline: December 15, 2017 or until position filled.
