Electric Systems Manager-Kinston, pop. 22,675. Performs complex prof. & admin. work managing the design, installation, operation, maintenance & repair of the City’s electric operations systems & facilities, & related work as req'd. Work is performed under the general direction of the Dir. of Public Services. Division supervision is exercised over all division personnel. Comprehensive knowledge of principles & practices of electric utility org. & operation; comprehensive knowledge of the materials, methods & equipment used in the operation, maintenance & repair of electrical transmission, dist. & other systems & facilities; thorough knowledge of design eng. as involved in planning & drafting electric dist. facilities; ability to plan, assign & coordinate the work of the assigned personnel; general knowledge of the City’s policies & of legal restrictions regulating public utilities programs; ability to communication effectively (oral & written); & the ability to prepare & deliver complex technical presentations. Bachelor’s degree in electric engineering or related field, possession of or the ability to acquire cert. as a Professional Engineer in the State of NC & extensive experience of a wide & progressively resp. nature in electric utility mgmt., or equiv. comb. of edu. & exp. Must possess a valid NC driver’s license. Will be req'd. to submit to a Pre-placement medical screening (includes drug screen). Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the City of Kinston.
